High School, Naya Bazar, Kurseong celebrated India's 77th Independence Day. The
program started with the hostess of Miss Oma Lama welcoming our honorable
director Sir Kamal Kumar Agarwal and Mrs Sashi Agarwal. In the first session of
the programme, the national flag 'Tiranga' was hoisted by our honourable
director Sir Kamal Agarwal, which was followed by the national anthem
"Jana Gana Mana". All the students, teachers, and parents present
sang the national anthem with pride and patriotism. An Independence Day speech
was presented by the students Miss Riddhima Dutta and Master Aarogya Chettri.
The speech was followed by Nepali, Hindi, and Bengali patriotic songs sung by
the school choir to commemorate the sacrifices and Love towards the nation of
our freedom fighters.
In the next session of
the program, a beautiful number of patriotic dance was performed by the girls
of classes IX and X, which was followed by the speech of the honorable
principal of the school Mrs. Sradha Pradhan on the importance of celebrating
independence day and was concluded by a vote of thanks to the teachers, staffs
and the students for the hard work that they had put in organizing the
programme, and the parents for their valuable presence.
Towards the end of the
programme all the students sang the school song under the direction of Sir
Minar Biswakarma, the music teacher of the school. Lastly, the host Miss Oma
Lama concluded the program by encouraging the students towards the patriotism.
A group of 64 Students
(Girls: 32 & Boys: 32) from the senior section along with 6 teachers were
also sent to the Kurseong Monteviot Ground to participate in the march-past
organized by Kurseong Municipality.
